Pokemon unite pokemon win rates12/24/2023 Going a little deeper, would I compare a 50% Decidueye player against a 50% Greninja player? No, because they both function on different normal distributions (Again, apples to oranges). But if you somehow did the math and extrapolated the adjustment factor, then that could be a possibility, mathematically. Would I compare a SoloQ player against a 5 stack? Apples to apples, no. You can also compare a 5stack against another 5stack. In general, the biggest issue I see is that people try to compare apples to oranges, when you really can only compare apples to apples.įor example, starting on a high level, you can compare the win rate of a SoloQ player against another SoloQ player. Win rate is important but context is even more important.Įven in your example, OP, I can tell that there is a fundamental misunderstanding surrounding how WR is being used vs. These are the jungle thieves, those who score instead of contesting Zapdos, living in a single lane, absent from major fights, feeding, inting, ragequit AFK at base, surrender spamming, etc. The worst players I've ever come across are sitting in the 45~46% range to this day and some of them I've unfortunately got allocated with multiple times. Doesn't mean we can't win and it's certainly not an excuse to ignore your own shortcomings but it's undeniably a handicap. However, below 48% players will so far in my experience, be the ones dragging the team down. My guess is that they're improving or at least not horrible anymore but their win rate will take a long time to dent because they've played hundreds of games. The 48~49% players I see lately aren't amazing of course, they're just average. I've never met anybody below 48% that even did averagely. If you're below 48%, even if you mostly solo queue, you're likely significantly worse than the average player. Almost all of them main mons with consistent carry potential. All the best players I've come across played hundreds/thousands of games and have 55%+ win rates. If you're above 55%, you're likely notably better than the average player. Let's say you've had at least 300 games in solo queue. Plus myself and most others solo queue so that's where my interest is. Naturally, they'll win more until they get very high up and more regularly match against similar sweats. Overall win rate is pretty much useless given that it can be inflated by Standard or Quick.Īlso, I'm not gonna include people who primarily stack as they tend to have inflated win rates because the matchmaking is awesome and they willingly or not, get matched with randoms often below their skill level plus a comms advantage a lot of the time. Keep in mind these are my personal observations and I'm only accounting for Ranked win rates. IMO win rates don't mean much unless it's on the extremes over hundreds of matches. There was a similar thread a couple of days ago and I'll copy-paste what I think about the win rate thang: Self-promotion may be removed at the discretion of the moderators.
